The course focuses on the approaches to qualitative data analysis. It is designed to develop theoretical foundations of qualitative data analysis and developing skills that students can use to do a systematic analysis of textual data. The course will explore a range of inductive and deductive approaches and cover analytic skills that cut across traditions, including theme identification, code definition, and presentation of data. Advanced topics covered will include narrative Analysis and grounded theory.
